This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Brett Azure who was born in Belcourt, North Dakota on March 16, 2009 and passed away on April 29, 2009 . We will remember him forever.

Brett James Azure, six weeks old, passed away at Fairview Children's Hospital, Minneapolis, Mn on April 29, 2009 with his famly present.

Brett was born to Bradley Azure Sr. and Tracy Lesperance on March 16, 2009 in Quentin Burdick Medical Facility at Belcourt, ND.

Brett was a very happy baby. He lit up your world with his big, dark, bright, beautiful eyes. They were always so full of life. He was always very content. His favorite place in our home was his bedroom, where he would look around and was curious abot everything. He loved spending quality time with Mom, Dad, Brother Brad, and Sisters Shatehya and Sadie. he loved it when his Dad would take the family out cruising in their van, whether it was for shopping or just enjoying the scenery. Brett was a very special baby, he never gave any indication that he was sad or unhappy and never gave us a fuss. Although Brett's life was short-lived, it was very fulfilled with family and relatives who loved him dearly and will never forget him. He has left us with very special memories of his short joyful life.

Brett was seen weekly by medical staff and always passed his weekly check-ups with no problems.

Brett is survived by his Father, Brad; Mother, Tracy;  Brother, Brad Jr.-14; Sisters, Shatehya-11, Sadie-2 all of Dunseith, ND

Paternal Grandparents- Larry and Alva Gladue of Dunseith, ND

Maternal Grandparents - Anthony and Arlene Azure of Dunseith, ND

Great Grandfathers - Frank (Lum) Azure of Dunseith, ND, and Peter Lesperance of Mpls, MN.

Uncles- Kendall (Heather) Gladue of Minot, ND and Loren Gladue of Dunseith, ND

Aunts - Diana Lesperance, Holly Azure, Vanessa Belgarde all of Dunseith, ND. And many more aunts, uncles and cousins

Brett is proceeded in death by Great Grandmothers; Agnes Azure, Diana Lesperance, Kathleen Gladue and Louise Chase. Grandfathers; Robert Chase and Leslie Machappines. Great Grandfathers; Clyde Chase and John Gladue. Two uncles; Terrance Lesperance and Anthony Azure Jr.  and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins, which are too numerous to mention.

 Brett James continued to light up people's lives even after his passing, his heart was donated so he can help save the lives of others. So not only was he our lil angel he was a hero to many others..

Riley Stearns

Background Story
In January of 2009 Riley had a viral infection. We took him to a couple of different doctors and were told it is viral just have to let it run it course. On February 25th, when giving Riley a bath we noticed swelling in his right leg. We call the local St. Johns and spoke with a Nurse there who told us to bring Riley in asap. We took him to Children's Hospital of St. Paul were they told us he has congestive heart failure, secondary to a viral infection. We were there the first time for 6 days and we were sent home with medications for Riley. Two and a half days later Riley was admitted back in at Children's. On March 9th, Dr. Sutton spoke to us about meeting with the Heart Transplant Team at the University of Minnesota. We meet with them on March11th. They took a copy of Riley Echo that he had that morning and reviewed it with the other team members back at the University. On March 12th Dr. Sutton came to Riley's room and told me that they will be transferring Riley to the U of M on Friday 13th. That there is a possibility he would need a Heart Transplant. Riley arrived at the University on March 13th. March 16th, Riley had a heart cath done and it was determined then that he did need a Heart Transplant and was placed on the Heart Transplant list at status level 1A. On March 25th, Riley under went surgery to have a Berlin Heart placed on the left side of his heart to take over for that side. Since having the Berlin Heart placed Riley has gotten stronger. We now are waiting for the right heart to become available.

Sorry to say Riley never got that donation he needed and passed away on March 1, 2010.
